Scars
Many scars can be diminished with permanent cosmetics, especially those where the colouring is evidently different from the tone of the surrounding skin.
These problems can be corrected by implanting appropriate pigments in the affected area.
Using the same technique without pigmentation, scar tissue can be relaxed and flattened.
Nipple/Areola
With permanent cosmetics, it is possible to carry out a “total optical re-construction” of the nipple and the areola, in some cases where a mastectomy and subsequent implant has been performed. The correction of scars as a result of surgery for breast enlargement/reduction can be camouflaged with this treatment.
Pigmentation of grafted areolas following breast reconstruction makes them look more natural. Where no nipple is present, delicate shading is used to create the effect of a 3-dimensional nipple.
Not all problems result from surgery. Some people are born with small, pale or badly-defined areolas. Permanent cosmetics can be used to correct these problems.
Burns
Permanent cosmetics used to camouflage burned skin is the treatment that gives the most satisfaction, with truly spectacular results.
Evidence has even shown reduction of scar tissue.
Incipient Alopecia
“Optical hair replacement” by means of permanent cosmetics provides camouflage to the areas of the scalp and face where hair loss has occurred.
This treatment works very well with hair transplants, shading and replacing opticle hairs between the transplants or on old transplant scars.
Vitiligo
This is loss of pigmentation to the skin.It can be treated by “re-pigmentation”. Colours are professionally mixed to match the surrounding skin tones. Best results are with dark brown or black skin.
This treatment can only be used when the disorder is in remission, that is, has ceased to spread for over a year.
Cleft Lip
Reconstructive permanent cosmetics can produce excellent results. The ‘cupids bow’ of the lip can be redrawn – this is the area usually affected. The mouth is given a more natural shape by using a technique known as lip contouring. A colour is selected and blended with the natural lip.
This treatment creates a completely natural look.
Hair Replacement
The appearance of hair is created to camouflage a scar following an operation.
The pictures on the right provide an illustration of permanent cosmetic hair replacement.
